So, here's the plan - I recently got a camera that doesn't suck, and I'm working on getting either an SLR and a few lenses or, depending on the budget, something ridiculously high end in the point and shoot lines (IE, 10x zoom, full manual control, etc)
Now... these cameras need to be put to good use and frankly, just updating the DeviantArt and Flickr accounts is boring. I decided instead to make a photoblog - see the greatest of the great here: [link]
What will the photoblog cover? I haven't decided yet entirely and I'm open to ideas, but I think it'll just be 1 shot every school day, with the goal of covering my last and final semester of University. I'd kill to shoot something about the post-apocalyptic demon bunnies trying to take over the world... but I don't think I'll be able to find them. They're an elusive lot, those bunnies.
Idea in place, I need a place to hold it. I currently own the following domains:
[link] - my current portfolio site that hasn't been updated in like a year)
[link] - currently being used for top secret projects that will never be made available to those I deem unworthy (ie, everyone but my ITM700 group)
[link] - currently being used to test the back-end software that will be powering this photoblog.
For the sake of professionalism, I'm thinking that I should relocate my portfolio to emadman.net and drop the photoblog into themadmanproject... but I've grown fond of the TMP name and the design of my portfolio site, so I'm not sure whether I should do that.
I could always use The Half Assery as I am now, but it may not sit well on a resume or a job interview. Something about saying "I own and operate The Half Assery" may get me thrown out on my ass. I love the domain, especially the concept - THA Shoots the Last Semester... but I'm not sure how it would pan out.
My web hosting provider is a pretty slick lot though, and they'll provide the hookups for another domain if I can come up with one. Suggestions are always welcome.
One more potential idea is to allow the whole lot of you to have your own photoblogs on a per request basis. You would be linked either as [link] or [link]
I have the bandwidth and space needed. All you need is a bit of creativity and the drive to keep it updated at least 2-3 times a week.
